The Director, Professional Services is a leader who is both highly technical and business oriented, capable of leading discussions with technical IT teams and business executives. They lead a team of consisting of technical and analytical consultants to help customers build analytic maturity across their enterprise. In this role you will develop a reputation as both an Analytics expert and a point of escalation for your team. You will be a capable and responsive people manager as well as part of the front line helping your team support their assigned customers.   • Understanding client needs, incl. core business processes for which Alteryx is used, as well as industry-best practices


  • Maintain tight integrations with Product Management on new features, capabilities, and innovation


  • Evangelizing and providing thought leadership through external content such as blogs, whitepapers, and conference presentations


  • Partnering with leaders across Sales, Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Professional Services to provide technical expertise and guidance on business cases


  • Understanding Fortune 500 company enterprise deployment requirements


  • Scaling knowledge across the organization through technical enablement to help team members grow and provide more value

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Inspire: Manage a team of consultants, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and high performance.


  • Client Engagement: Understand and anticipate client needs, including core business processes and industry best practices, to provide tailored solutions.


  • Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management to align on new features, capabilities, and innovations.


  • Thought Leadership: Evangelize analytics through external content, such as blogs, whitepapers, and conference presentations.


  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Sales, Sales Engineering, Customer Success, and Professional Services to provide technical expertise and develop compelling business cases.


  • Enterprise Understanding: Gain insights into Fortune 500 enterprise deployment requirements to better support our clients.


  • Team Development: Scale knowledge across the organization through technical enablement initiatives, enhancing team capabilities and client value.

What You'll Do:

  • Identify the skills and experiences required to ensure successful customer journeys across varying timelines and requirements.


  • Attract and retain top talent to build a high-performing consulting team.


  • Model best practices in world-class consulting services and maintain adherence to company methods and procedures.


  • Stay updated on Alteryx solutions and industry trends to enhance credibility and effectiveness in post-sales scenarios.


  • Manage team utilization and cross-training initiatives, ensuring proactive engagement with customers to establish and achieve critical goals and KPIs.


  • Provide guidance on consulting projects and special initiatives as needed.


  • Participate in ongoing training to deepen your product knowledge and understand competitive landscapes.


  • Communicate effectively with customers and partners through various channels regarding service delivery.


  • Collaborate with sales leaders to optimize processes and cultivate a culture of success and teamwork.


  • Develop training materials and process guides to support team enablement.


  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud services, ensuring your team leverages these integrations effectively.


  • Work with Systems Engineers and technical experts to strategize cross-training and knowledge transfer opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of management experience, with a preference for experience leading remote teams.


  • 6+ years of experience in technical implementations, sales engineering, or analytics consulting.


  • Proven ability to navigate complex selling situations involving multiple departments and executive levels.


  • Demonstrated mentoring skills, providing constructive feedback and developmental support to direct reports and peers.


  • Experience in setting long-term goals and guiding projects, people, and processes toward successful outcomes.


  • Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in decision-making.


  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving work environment.


  • Willingness to travel up to 50% as business needs arise.
