Job Description
The Trial Attorney represents insured and the Company in the defense of bodily injury and property damage lawsuits, subrogation cases. The position prepares for and conducts hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.

Key Responsibilities

Conducts depositions and examinations under oath and prepares summary documents

Prepares witnesses and clients for depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials including expert witnesses

Keep claim business partners updated on status (initial client contact, initial litigation plan, recurring contacts, strategy conferences, pre-trial, etc.)

Contacts clients to discuss their case and answer any questions

Review new file assignments, all documentary evidence, and approve initial pleadings, propound discovery, and/or develop strategy

Investigate and pursue subrogation litigation as appropriate

Draft post-trial motions

Try and/or arbitrate cases by preparing motions, motions in limine and summary documents in limine

Conducts settlement/dispositive proceedings (e.g., mediations, arbitrations, etc.)

Prepares and conducts court appearances (matter management conferences, hearings, status conferences, etc.)

Education

Juris Doctor required

Experience

Juris Doctorate degree and member in good standing of LA State Bar

* 1-5 or more years of experience

    Compensation
    Compensation offered for this role is $85,600 - 152,650 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
    The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
