Job Description
The National Claims team is hiring, and we are actively looking for a Senior Claim Advisor, Subrogation to join our team! You will report to the Manager, National Subrogation & Salvage.
Role Designation: Hybrid
Accountabilities:
- Deliver and exceed on all key performance indicators as it relates to the total amount of recovery dollars, file closures, claims leakage control and expense management

- Develop and execute on equitable recovery strategies on all appropriate files.
- Develop and execute on Subrogation investigation strategies in collaboration with other claims units.
- Obtain prompt and reasonable settlement recoveries directly with policy holders and third parties or through external resources
- Work with and direct external vendors (legal counsel, engineers) to ensure prompt and considerable recoveries while controlling expenses
- To assist claim employees in identifying and investigating subrogation opportunities
- Work independently in validating the potential recovery on claims
- Take appropriate steps to secure evidence, engage with outside counsel and participate in legal proceedings
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of Property, Automobile and Subrogation claims handling acquired through 3-5+ years of claims handling experience
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Superior problem solving ability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to collaborate to reach goals
- Highly motivated and able to work well independently
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
Bonus Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education or equivalent is preferred.
- Completion of CIP designation or desire to pursue is preferred.
- Previous paralegal experience is an asset
- Licensed for other regions is an asset
- Experience in working on Guidewire an asset
