Our team is growing, and we are actively looking to hire a Product Development Specialist to join our Product Development Team! Reporting to the Senior Manager, Property Liability Product, this role will be accountable for supporting ACG's Customer and Growth strategies by delivering competitor product intelligence, developing and tracking key business processes associated with our products, working in support of key product & Strategic initiatives and allowing us to enhance our market position by optimizing product relevance through the analysis and monitoring of key performance indicators.

This role is a 13Month Contract Position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stay current on industry developments and their impact on both our core product propositions and those of our competitors by tracking competitor product actions via insurer bulletins, advertisements, websites, rate & UW manuals, wordings, process & proposition documents
  • Create and maintain a database/repository of competitor intelligence
  • Prepare head-to-head analysis on comparable competitor products in order to highlight potential gaps and opportunities by reviewing impact of competitor product moves on ACG segments, regions and market share. Benchmark ACG offering against industry. Be the owner of this framework
  • Perform 'health checks' on our existing suite of products to ensure they are meeting key customer and business KPI's by preparing recommendations aligned to the product lifecycle framework (Retain, Refresh or Retire)
  • Ensure business processes related to products (i.e., Training manuals, procedure guides & FAQ's, communications, etc.) are current and aligned to company strategy
  • Lead the development and launch of new or refreshed product propositions

Education

  • University Degree/College Diploma in related field.
  • Minimum 5 - 7 years' experience in the insurance industry.
  • 2 - 3 years' experience in product management and underwriting is mandatory.
  • Enrolled in, or completion of, CIP designation is an asset.
  • Canadian Risk Manager designation is an asset.
  • Ability to develop and deliver verbal/written explanations and presentations to senior stakeholder.

Role Designation:

Hybrid - The number of days to be split between the office and home will be determined by you and your manager.
