Job Description

The Market Sales Consultant (MSC) supports Independent Insurance Agents with National General an Allstate company. We are currently seeking an experienced Insurance Professional for this opportunity to cover Central and Southern Illinois. This role will be collaborating with cross-functional business partners to develop and implement market-specific sales tactics designed to achieve specific growth and profit goals and targeted business results. This individual will be consulting with independent agency owners to develop strategic business plans, provide advice on independent agency operations, identify issues, and recommend plans for resolution, and provide access to National General resources as requested. Local travel will be required as you meet with agents and may include overnight stays. Additionally, this individual would be accountable for recruiting for new agency partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Consults with agencies to drive results in order to meet the market production plan
Collaborates with Independent Agencies to assist with creation of agency-specific short term and long-term strategic business plans, periodically reviews and suggests adjustments as necessary to achieve results
Acts as a Strategic Business Advisor to agencies in order to achieve short and long-term business objectives
Prospects for new Independent Agency partners, looking for partners that align with National General value proposition
Consults with independent agency owners by having a strong knowledge of the Independent agency channel, including industry competitors, major brokers and national industry associations
Advises independent agency owners on sales and operational processes by leveraging experience in various insurance products, sales management, general management, mergers and acquisitions and portfolio management


Note: This opportunity has opportunity to earn bonus in addition to a base salary.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (Preferred)
5 or more years of related experience


In lieu of above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience:

  • 3 or more years of experience (Preferred)
  • Industry experience (Preferred)

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

P and C Licensed in state of residence (Preferred)

Functional Skills:

Business planning and consulting skills
Sales and recruiting skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to manage priorities across multiple disciplines
Strong general management, analytical, planning and organizational skills
* Strong knowledge of the Independent Agency channel, including industry competitors, major brokers and national industry associations

Compensation
Compensation offered for this role is $83,000.00 - 114,200.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
