Job Description
Underwrites larger, more complex cases for new proposals and renewal business within expanded authority levels under minimal supervision. Developing and evaluating rates for risk and financial impact. Pricing add-on coverage to existing accounts and benefit changes. Review and approve contract revisions and other policyowner requests having a higher level of risk and financial impact to the company. Occasionally reviewing and/or approving the work of lower level Underwriters

Key Responsibilities
Adapts communication techniques for audiences at multiple internal levels
Prepares proposal and/or offer information and coordinates final proposal presentation, including preparation of all required exhibits
Conducts research to secure additional data needed to make determinations on benefits and premiums.
Using AB's workflow management tools, thoroughly document the thought processes to support decisions
Analyze all data related to the risk for mid-size cases, to determine what benefits, if any, can be offered and at what cost (rating)
Review and manipulate census data for input into various rating tools generating manual rates
Respond timely and accurately to requests made to the underwriting team while maintaining positive relationships with our internal and external customers through effective written and verbal communication.
Develop credibility with sales force, brokers, as well as internal and external customers.
Communicates with policy owners, applicants, brokers, agencies, and/or other sources concerning underwriting decisions and procedures.
Reviews requests for master policy changes to determine eligibility.
Education
4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred)
Experience
2 or more years of experience (Preferred)
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job does not have supervisory duties.

In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Compensation
Compensation offered for this role is $47,440.00 - 81,902.50 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
