Role Designation: Hybrid
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Employment & ESG, the ESG Specialist will be responsible for advancing ACG's ESG portfolio, with a focus on climate initiatives, to enhance Allstate's competitive advantage and stakeholder value, corporate strategy, and new value creation. The individual will also help develop and recommend strategic actions and initiatives to further mature the ESG portfolio. The incumbent in this role will work with a variety of different stakeholder groups across the business as well as collaborate with other areas of the Law & Regulation Department.
Accountabilities
- Deliver ESG subject matter expertise and actionable guidance to ACG. (20%)
- Act as part of the ESG team providing clear, actionable insights on topics including climate, social impact and engagement, including monitoring public policy in conjunction with Government and Industry Relations and tracking the industry. (20%)
- Own and project manage various ESG initiatives in conjunction with other subject matter experts by working across the organization and with key partners. (25%)
- Work towards aligning ESG framework and strategy with various external frameworks and public indices. (15%)
- Oversee strategic relationships to advance ESG at ACG by maintaining and growing partnerships across the global enterprise and industry to maximize impact. (5%)
- Assist with reporting to ACG senior leadership team and Board of Directors on trends, risks, direction, issues, and key developments related to ESG. (10%)
- Work in close collaboration with Enterprise Sustainability Team to ensure consistent approaches and outcomes. (5%)
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Business, Finance, Environmental Studies, or related field.
- A minimum 3-years experience working in a similar role and a ESG Certification (preferred).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across the business.
- Ability to oversee multiple projects and priorities while collaborate with various departments to drive successful initiatives.
