Job Description
The role holder is responsible for planning and managing multiple aspects of application development projects at Allstate Technology, Services & Ventures in collaboration with the Managing Engineer and Delivery Head. The incumbent will also lead a team of FSCD developers and support with project scoping, planning, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, issue resolution and people management with a mandate to optimize delivery of projects to translate client's requirements.

Engage with business and product stakeholders to understand the client requirements and actively participate in cross-functional conversations to support the development of product roadmaps and the technical and architectural solutioning process

Lead internal efforts to build knowledge assets for the team to ensure optimal productivity and asset utilization. Proactively engage with team members and help them in translating the requirements into a product.

Support senior team members with project and financial management activities such as project planning, development of product roadmaps, budgeting, and cost estimation

    • Take end-to-end ownership of project quality and delivery for select modules, adopt Agile methodologies to lead and guide a team of full-stack developers on project delivery; closely reviewing all solutions and deliverables from a functionality and technical standpoint and driving on-time completion in alignment with established standards
    • Drive the quality management process; actively participating in code reviews, providing timely feedback to team members to improve the solution design and ensure application deployment is risk free.
    • Support managers in identifying and mitigating project risks to ensure alignment of project delivery with defined timelines, cost estimates and client expectations. Provide regular feedbacks to team members and help managers and functional heads in making decisions.
    • Facilitate the team's progress by periodically taking up capability building sessions for the team members, playing an important role in enhancing their functional skills and keeping the team focused on the goals of the project
    • Drive engineering excellence through implementation of practices such as Test-Driven Development, Continuous Refactoring, Code Reviews and walk throughs along with Unit Test Coverage Methodologies
    • Support managers in examining new candidates and testing their functional knowledge and capability to smoothen the hiring process; play an active role in developing subordinates and providing suggestions for superior employee experience and retention of critical employees across the team

    • Bachelor's degree / University degree in Engineering / Technology (B.Tech / B.E. / BCA), Master's Degree is a must
    • 12+ Years of working experience in application development domain.

    4 to 6 Years of experience of leading a team in an agile environment.
