Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Kafka Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining data flows and ensuring data is processed efficiently.
Key responsibilities
- Provide systems analysis for the orchestration of messaging systems across Canada.
- Design, implement and maintain Kafka messaging systems.
- Design, development, testing, and deployment using middleware systems.
- Leverage secure standards to provide the appropriate level of security.
- Use and promote common development tools and practices within the team.
- General support of fully integrated, highly available production integration environments
- Analysis of information systems processes, monitoring of key performance metrics and creation of standard performance dashboards/reports
- Delivery of high-quality documentation as required.
- Effective communication with teammates, business stakeholders and other technology teams
- Work effectively as part of a distributed team within agile delivery frameworks.

Essential Criteria - candidates should clearly state on their application form how they meet each of the essential criteria as these will be assessed during shortlisting and only those deemed to meet all of the below criteria will move forward to the next stage.
Must have:
- A minimum of 4 years' experience designing, documenting, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining Kafka Application.
- Experience with message transformation, orchestration, and batch
- Solid knowledge of design patterns, and ability to properly document the design.
- Experience working in Linux environments.
- Working knowledge in RESTful API design and Architecture
- Experience working in Agile (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, XP) environments
- Good attendance and a clean disciplinary record.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience designing, documenting, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining Spring Boot API Microservices.
- Experience with APIs and developing Consumers/Producers for Kafka interaction.
- Experience with Scripting Language e.g., JavaScript, Python etc.
- Experience working in a CICD development pipeline.
