Job Description
This entry level role is responsible for executing projects in support of pricing/reserving insurance business utilizing accepted actuarial and statistical standards, as well as methodologies and knowledge gained through on the job training. This role works closely with analytics management and key business partners to execute appropriate pricing, modeling and product strategies of low complexity to support business goals.

The Actuarial Analyst, you will work closely with the Actuarial Pricing team, countrywide market teams, and other departments across the company to ensure appropriate monitoring of rate adequacy for personal property lines of business. This includes enhancements on the property rating plan as well as other countrywide property initiatives. The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your actuarial pricing techniques, modeling, product knowledge, and communication and leadership skills.As the Actuarial Analyst you will be accountable for:Prepare Rate Indications, have a sound knowledge of indication methods and underlying assumptionsPerform Product and Price review (e.g. identifying segmentation opportunities) including preparation of recommendation and proposalSupport market teams for other profitability/growth initiativesPerform analysis to understand Allstate's competitive positionPerform and understand multi-variate analysis to develop or refine existing rating plansBecome an expert of the actuarial databases, and be able to analyze its contentsProviding actuarial support to other areas (Finance, Underwriting, Reserving etc.)Recommend improvements to process and maintain monitoring reportsSupport ad hoc requests from internal stakeholdersQualifications and Experience:Minimum 1-3 years of P&C experience (Pricing experience an assetMust possess strong programming skills (e.g. SAS/VBA)Strong understanding of theory underlying the indication assumptions and method (trends, loss development, profit provision, expense)Completion of CAS Exam 5 is an assetAble to communicate and present ideas clearlyStrong teamwork skillsAllstate Canada Group has policies and practices that provide workplace accommodations.
