Must have a DoD interim secret security clearance or higher to start.

Selected candidate will support primarily support the System Integration division by developing technical documents including work control packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents and reports. Assists in scheduling, reporting, verifying and documenting objective quality evidence documentation (OQE) and disposition procedures for quality assurance documents. Candidate will be responsible for updating and maintaining production database with daily work assignment sheets and incorporate applicable drawings changes. While also interfacing with necessary Government, shipyard and ship's force personnel. Selected candidate will also complete training record reviews and assists with trip expense reports. Assists with planning measures of upcoming projects to include construction of production database, pre-fabrication efforts, work authorization documents, training requirements and any additional requirements as needed. May perform duties outside of primary duty/specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment if no Work Control role is required. #LI-SC1

This position requires business travel. HII policy requires that all employees must be complete with their COVID vaccination to engage in business travel.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Master understanding of production and processes.
  • Responsible for interfacing with customers, managing subcontractors and ability to provide work direction to others.
  • May provide direction and lead others. May manage one or more multiple jobs.
  • Completes comprehension of specialty trades functions and tools. Performs a variety of complicated and non-routine tasks.
  • Develops and uses technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports.
  • Schedules, reports and briefs customers and senior management. May perform quality inspections on finished product.
  • Performs duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have High School education/equivalent and 6 years of related experience.
  • Must be a quick learner and resume must show ability to multi-task while leading personnel.
  • Must be able to read and interpret NAVSEA drawings.
  • Must have experience generating work packages as a Work Center Supervisor or Work Control role.
  • Must have high level computer skills and be proficient in MS Suite including MS Excel.
  • Must have an interim DoD secret security clearance are higher.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 75% of the year.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain base access credentials.
  • Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
  • Must be willing to work in a tradesman capacity as needed.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.


Preferred Requirements
  • Technical/professional certifications and or trades school preferred.
  • Prefer Lean Sigma Six certification or equivalent
  • Adjudicated DoD secret security clearance a plus.


Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 50 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels. May ride ships at sea for extended periods. May require wearing a respirator. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
