Job Description
Designs and delivers programs to train all levels of personnel. Formulates teaching outline and determines instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops. Develops tests and visual aids, conducts training classes, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Collaborates with sales, marketing, and engineering to identify program needs, obtain technical data and schedules programs. Keeps abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques. Confers with management, employees and clients to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies. May evaluate and/or oversee contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs.

- Coordinates with training personnel to identify how simulator systems can best meet their training objectives before building scenarios.
- Creates, develops and modifies playing areas and scenarios for simulator systems to meet customer needs.
- Identifies and resolves scenario issues.
- Performs start-up and shut-down procedures for the simulator and assists with system operation.
- Configures hardware.
- Performs system back-ups and replaces projectors and computer equipment such as hard drives and video cards when necessary.
- Follows step-by-step procedures for acquiring and installing software upgrades and patches.
- Briefs FAA and contractor management on simulator performance and utilization (this includes troubleshooting, isolation and resolution of software issues and the evaluation of conditions that enable proper support decisions).
- Trains customers (RPO's, Instructors and ATC personnel) how to best utilize the simulator.
- Develops and maintains simulator utilization reports.
- Gathers airport data from customers for Visual Database and Playing Area changes and, as necessary, submits Change Requests.
- Gives demonstrations of Tower Simulation System operation.
- Acts as a Remote Pilot Operator (RPO) when the schedule of other FSR duties and responsibilities allows.
Performs other duties as assigned.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the ATC field.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and operating system software similar to, or more complex than, the simulators' hardware and software.
- Facility with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills.

Education and Experience
- Minimum of four years' ATC experience required by the contract. The FAA may grant a waiver for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous experience working in an ATC environment and/or with air traffic control simulators.
- Software training experience desirable
- Experience with UFA TSS desirable
- Experience with Whiteboard software and/or scenario development desirable
