Job Description
Alion Science and Technology is looking for highly skilled Microsoft Exchange Engineer/Administrator with experience designing, deploying and supporting Microsoft solutions to include Exchange 2016 and Office365. The Microsoft Exchange Engineer/Administrator will be responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, enhancement and troubleshooting support of complex and diverse IT systems to meet customer requirements.
Duties:
Exchange 2016 DAG (Database Availability Group) design, configuration, & troubleshooting.
Exchange 2016 Client Access High Availability using Windows NLB (Network Load Balancing) & hardware based load balancing.
Advanced SMTP routing and mail flow troubleshooting.

Implementing DoD STIGs for Microsoft Exchange.
Reviews and test IT systems for adherence to requirements and documents test results. Resolves tickets and problem reports and uses expertise in specific technologies and hardware/software components to complete tasks and projects. This could include COTS/GOTS products from the system level to individual hardware/software components.
Recommends new technologies and processes for complex systems. Coordinates system installations and monitors equipment functioning.
Creates 'build docs' for system administrators. Identifies system requirements for operations and security and works with other engineers and staff to develop design and integrate components.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
• 5 + years of experience in Exchange systems administration or engineering
• Experience analyzing migration to new Exchange environments
• Ability to identify and resolve compatibility issues found between Exchange Server updates that would prevent successful updates
• Practical experience troubleshooting advanced technical operating system performance problems
• Deep technical familiarity with Exchange Server 2016 and Microsoft Outlook Client
• Understanding of Exchange oriented interactions with Microsoft Messaging Technology concepts including ActiveSync, AutoDiscover, DAG, RBAC, PowerShell, DLP, E-Discovery, OAB, EAC, Public Folders, Exchange client protocols, Exchange Server Roles, DNS, IIS, AD, and SSO
• Proven ability to Fix or remediate source objects to make them compatible with Exchange 2016
• Experience designing and implementing application testing strategy to test the remediation of Exchange related issues
• Implementing security related enhancements to Exchange related capabilities
• Creating detailed architecture diagrams and standard operating procedures
• Experience with Windows Servers 2012R2/2016,
• Windows desktop operating systems (WIN10 SHB)
• Experience digesting and implementing DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
• Experience with VMware
• Familiarity with VDI technologies and protocols
• Security + and Linux+ or Microsoft certification
Must be a US Citizen able to obtain a US Secret security clearance.
