HII-Technical Solutions Division (TSD) is looking to hire a Principal SW engineer/Developer to work in the Annapolis Junction, MD area.

This position supports cloud analytic development for our IC customers, we are looking for candidates are self-motivated and eager to develop services and capabilities to evaluate information at the scale and speed required for high-impact mission priorities.
Essential Job Responsibilities
A candidate with an analyst mindset who develops capabilities designed to help solve common problems arising from various analyst offices is needed. The primary focus will be on prototype development in the area of batch and streaming analytics as well as integration and evaluation of new COTS applications. The individual may also work directly with customers to gather requirements and feedback.
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.
Minimum Qualifications
- 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
- At least 15 years of general experience in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline
- At least 5 years of experience in software-intensive projects and programs for government or industry customers.
- At least 5 years of the experience must have been as a software engineer supporting software architecture development, requirement analysis, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools, and integration (with both new and existing systems).
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or a related discipline may be substituted for 4 years of general experience. A master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline, may be substituted for an additional two (2) years of general experience.
- Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
Preferred Requirements
- Strong development experience in a variety of languages (ex., java, python, Scala, perl...)
- Experience integrating with customer's cloud-based data systems
- Experience installing, configuring and integrating prototype applications for technical evaluation
- Modeling experience
- Experience installing, configuring and integrating prototype applications for technical evaluation
- Machine learning experience
- Docker containers
- Kubernetes
- Dev experience on both Windows and Linux platforms
- Analytics development experience
- Virtual Machine (VM) experience
- Must be able to work independently (learner, thinker, do'er)

- Able to demo and present during open houses and other customer events as needed
- Must be able to interact and work effectively with customer and other team members
- Proven development experience with strong aptitude and ability in learning new technologies
