HII – TSD is currently seeking a Senior Test Automation Developer to work out of the USPS Postal Service Headquarters location in Washington, DC.

The position is a part of the overall United States Postal Service (USPS) PostalOne! Customer Acceptance Testing (CAT) team, which is responsible for developing, running, and maintaining applications test scripts to support the business functions of the organization. The successful candidate will have advanced to expert level knowledge of automation test tools and will participate in the planning, designing, maintenance and running of automated tests in a fast paced environment requiring highly complex test automation programming techniques. This role requires proficiency and strong hands-on experience in developing test scripts using HP's Unified Functional Testing (UFT) and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools and advanced programming using VBScript. Experience working in an Agile Software Development environment is desirable. Candidates who can also demonstrate experience with the following are preferred: VersionOne Agile backlog management tool, version control software, task-tracking tools, and mailing industry data exchange standards.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Design and develop Test Automation Scripts and UI components to automate business processes to meet Client's needs in Visual Basic (VBA), UFT and/or ALM.
  • Work with business analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical designs
  • Develop necessary functionality in VBA, UFT and/or ALM following the tech designs
  • Perform troubleshooting, triage issues and address bugs in Production
  • Be involved in all phases of the development lifecycle
  • Develop scripts to perform data validation across all data bases by importing data automatically from mysql and/or Oracle data bases
  • Write custom scripts to perform data analysis on the imported data
  • Develop automated scripts for UI testing


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) and 10 years' experience in a related field
  • 7 years of hands-on Automation experience with VBA, UFT and/or ALM
  • Expertise with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and SQL
  • Excellent writing and communication skillset
  • Business analysis

  • Provide user support and problem resolution.
  • Maintain required documentation.
  • Provide on-call support as required to support the production systems.
  • Communicate project status, deliverables, priorities, problems, and contingencies.
  • Effectively and proactively works with customers/end users of application(s) to ensure needs are being met / managed in a positive manner.
  • Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a USPS Sensitive clearance.
  • A new Federal Executive Order requires that employees of Federal contractors be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by December 8, 2021. Preferred Requirements
  • Experience with Agile software development environment
  • Familiarity with commonly-used Agile backlog management tools and/or task-tracking tools such as VersionOne
  • Familiarity with version management concepts and tools
  • Proficiency with other Microsoft Office tools
  • Applying standard software development methodologies to successfully complete projects (USPS currently uses Agile methodologies and VersionOne as the standard Agile support tool).
  • Show a high level of competence in the USPS operating environment.
  • Acquires a thorough knowledge of the assigned systems and understands the USPS business processes that support it.
