Job Description
Huntington Ingalls Industries Technology Solutions Division (HII-TSD) has a stimulating career opportunity for an energetic well-qualified Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) Engineer to join our team. This engineer will work on teams supporting the development and production of systems for ground, airborne, shipboard, and undersea platforms. Our RAM Engineers are involved with every stage of the system lifecycle from concept through development, integration, test and evaluation, production, and product support. This engineer will join a team that has been supporting the RAM needs of the Department of Defense since 1968 and is at the forefront of RAM policies, tools, and processes.

- The candidate will have opportunities to apply RAM Engineering skills including:
- Performing RAM trade studies;
- Defining/allocating RAM requirements
- Conducting RAM assessments/predictions
- Performing Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
- Performing Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
- Conducting failure investigation/root cause analysis;
- Supporting Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) activity; and
- Supporting RAM test planning and execution (Accelerated, Growth, and Demonstration)
- The candidate will also be responsible for performing internal and external supplier interface to resolve RAM issues; representing HII-TSD at customer meetings as applicable; and providing proposal support.
- The candidate will have experience gathering, analyzing, and presenting data from a variety of sources; working in a cross-functional team environment; applying proactive and effective methods to address RAM issues with program design and support teams; generating technical documents and reports; and assessing RAM performance of fielded equipment.
Qualifications
- Education (required):
- Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 15 years of applicable work experience.
- Experience (required and/or preferred):
- 6 to 10 years relevant work experience
- Knowledge, Skills, Attributes:
- Recognized American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Design for Reliability concepts and techniques a plus.
- Candidate will have experience using Windchill Quality Solutions, ReliaSoft, Releyence, or comparable suite of reliability software tools.
- Familiarity with electrical or mechanical design for ground, airborne, shipboard, and undersea platforms a plus.
- Clearance:
- U.S. citizenship required to obtain security clearance. Existing Secret clearance (or higher) preferred.
