Position Summary
The Project Manager will work directly under the Program Manager, providing management oversight of numerous projects. Requirements include, but are not limited to, implementing and maintaining processes and tools to track risk and mitigation, cost, integrated milestone schedules, program planning and operations, and identifying project changes and report trends. This position requires in-depth analysis of technical documentation.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Program Manager:
- Lead technical/operational support of projects and events within the programmatic guidelines set by the Government customer
- Assist in defining project scope and objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans, involving all relevant stakeholders
- Manage project responsibilities throughout the project lifecycle from planning and execution through closeout in an Integrated Project Team environment
- Oversee Subcontractors to include contract establishment, statement of work development, sole source justification (when necessary), and project scope evaluation
- Develop, coordinate, monitor and maintain project schedules in conjunction with government and subcontractors
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks and communicate mitigations to project stakeholders
- Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Responsible for contract deliverable tracking and submission.
- Work under only very general direction
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Travel required for event / testing support

Education and Experience
- B.S./B.A. and 5+ years of relevant experience supporting a program or M.S./M.A. and 3+ years of experience; 8-10 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Prefer certification in Project/Program Management (e.g. PMP, etc.)
- Technical writing to include test plans, Project Management Plans, Statements of Work, white papers, sole source justifications, and extensive knowledge in Navy processes and procedures.
- Proficient in MS Office, MS Teams and MS Project
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail
- Self-motivated and driven desire to succeed with minimal direction
- Ability to work both in a team and individually
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
