Job Description

The Project Engineer will lead and provide expertise related to USAF financial processes that include all forms to support the financial activities between the USAF (DoD) and Alion/HII (Gov Contractor). This includes MIPR (Military Interdepartmental Purchase Request) process along with Acquisition Planning, scheduling, and reporting. Requirements include:

Alion/HII supports the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL/RCB) which maintains the Enterprise Business Systems (EBS) for all AFRL Technical Directorates and is currently modernizing that full suite of applications.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated communication skills (written & oral) to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders (financial & business)
  • Understanding of business & financial analysis principles, forms, processes, and techniques
  • Ability to plan and organize in a complex, fast-paced environments
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated, team player, positive attitude and enthusiastic
  • Solicit, understand, and document the client's financial & business requirements, processes, and workflows
  • Provide capabilities assessment and requirements validation
  • Experience developing schedules and financial Implementation Plans along with form flow through out USAF financial management and contract organizations
  • Conduct gap analysis between current solution and customer requirements
  • Work with the client to demonstrate the changes for system needs
  • Experience working with USAF or other DoD agencies is desired
  • Be a United States citizen
  • Secret clearance is desired or must have ability to obtain a Secret level clearance

Education, Certifications, and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or relevant discipline.
  • 3-10 years of relevant experience supporting teams within a complex, fast-paced, milestone-driven environment.
  • Experience working within government finance and contracts.
  • Fluent in all MS Office applications.
  • Project Management certifications such as PMP is preferred.
  • Experience with MS Visio preferred.
  • Experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience with Agile tools preferred.
