Job Description

The Program Security Officer - SAP duties for a special access program (SAP) include being proficient and capable in executing duties in all areas such as OPSEC, CI, personnel security, physical security, and information security. The CPSO should be able to implement security processes necessary to protect classified information, with strict adherence to NISPOM, 5205.07 , ICDs and other applicable Executive Order and DOD regulations.

Daily duties include:

  • Operate and maintain a security education, training and awareness programs including indoctrinations, annual refresher training, debriefings, and event specific training.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills, interpersonal skills and professional oral and written communication skills.
  • Operate and maintain a document control system and conduct annual inventories. Operate and maintain a visitor control program including processing incoming and outgoing visit certifications, visitor reception, and escort.
  • Operate and maintain a personnel security program including proficiency in the initiation, recertification and continual maintenance of security clearances. Other items to maintain include but are not limited to annual training; both company and customer provided. Must be capable of utilizing Personnel Security Databases such as JPAS and DISS.
  • Develop, review, coordinate, and execute Program Security documentation to include but not limited to the: Fixed Facility Checklist (FFC), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Transportation Plans, Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), and Co-Uses
  • Coordinate and work directly with the government customer and government support offices and host security/program related meetings for all program related events.
  • Operate and maintain an information security program that includes the transmission, receipt and distribution of classified information, storage and accountability of classified documents, and the training of others in marking and classification requirements.
  • Must be a self-starter with SAP (Special Access Programs) Experience
