Job Description

Who We Are

HII-TSD requires a Political-Military (POL-MIL) Analyst to provide support to the Defense Intelligence Agency's (DIA's) Centers and Offices at Bolling AFB, Washington, DC. Specifically, this includes the following:

  • Provide strategic all source analysis products and assessments across multiple disciplines, including regional stability, foreign military and security forces, insurgent organizations, counterterrorism, and counterintelligence, to create high value actionable intelligence and warning products that meet Intelligence Community Directives (ICD) 203 and Intelligence Community (IC) standards
  • Provide strategic all source analysis products and assessments on foreign military and civilian infrastructures and the defense-related resources that underpin a nation's military capabilities including transportation, logistics, defense economics, energy systems, arms trade, defense industries, and the operational environment
  • Provide strategic all source assessments on foreign countries, foreign national C4I, Foreign Defense Cyberspace Intelligence (DCI), and Foreign Use of the Cyberspace Domain
  • Provide intelligence visualization, dissemination, and business analytic services to the analytic workforce consistent with standards developed by DIA
  • Specifically, the Junior POL-MIL analyst conducts all-source analytic production on foreign military, political, and security-related issues including, but not limited to, regional military capabilities, strategy, doctrine, operations, leadership intentions and decision-making, military leadership, defense and security policies, irregular warfare, civil-military relations, and defense relations with the U.S. and other countries

What you will do

The POL-MIL analyst will provide strategic level products on foreign military, security, and related political issues including, but not limited to:
  • Foreign military organizations (including paramilitary and irregular warfare units)
  • Maritime, Air, and Conventional forces (including capabilities and limitations)
  • Command structure and force disposition
  • Equipment, operations, and exercise facilities
  • Supporting infrastructure and lines of communication
  • Regional military capabilities and regional military commitments
  • Military and related civilian leadership and leadership intentions
  • Decision-making processes
  • Defense and security policies
  • Defense relations with the U.S. and other countries


What we are looking for

  • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience
  • Demonstrate ability to collaborate and work with other IC members on information sharing, driving collection, and addressing analytic disputes and conflict resolution
  • Demonstrate ability to develop concise, insightful, and comprehensive products for defense intelligence
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance with CI/Poly


Bonus Points for...

  • Minimum 3 years of experience conducting analysis relevant to the specific labor category, with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years
  • Bachelor's Degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education; an additional 4 years of experience in the specific labor category, for a total of 7 years of experience in the specific labor category, may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree
