Summary
HII- Technical Solutions Division (TSD) is looking to hire an Engineering Technician 4 for our HII Nuclear, Maritime Operations Team in Newport News, VA, supporting Newport News Shipbuilding.
Engineering Technicians in the Maritime Operations group support a wide variety of different functional areas at Newport News Shipyard (NNS). At NNS, HII builds the most advanced ships in the world, nuclear powered Aircraft Carriers and Submarines, and our engineers are integral in that effort. Engineering technicians can work in the Nuclear Propulsion Division in key roles in Reactor Servicing or Nuclear Test Engineering.

What You Will Do
- Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes.
- Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics).
- Perform detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data.
- Use personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports.
- May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
What You Must Have
- Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 6 years related experience or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years related experience.
- Prior nuclear operations or work control experience is required.
- The selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- The selected candidate must be a U.S. citizen.

Physical Requirements
Job performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the job. A waterfront office work environment is normally encountered.
