Look no further than Huntington Ingalls, Technical Solutions Division as a system and datacenter support engineer, specializing in technical implementation of emerging web based, secure services and technologies including virtualization, enterprise storage, software-defined capabilities and DevSecOps solutions for the Joint Staff in Suffolk, Virginia.
The Joint Staff J7 (JSJ7) System Administration is responsible to the System Administration Lead for implementation, support, tuning, and performance for Information Technology client and server architecture components and operating systems (web servers, application servers, database servers, update servers, etc.) to support the development, testing, and production delivery of enterprise-wide, mission-critical applications.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Under limited supervision, responsible for the continuous operation of servers, networks and related infrastructure supporting information systems.
- Serves as an engineering liaison to the Joint Staff production team to help coordinate complex new capabilities and technologies designed by multiple engineering teams.
- Installs new software releases, patches, updates and managers the overall configuration to ensure it is up to date and secure
- Manages the JS J7 Content Management and Knowledge Management systems
- Perform hardware and software troubleshooting –Troubleshoot networking issues (Linux, Windows Networking, TCP/IP)
- Must be able to Install, Maintain, and Upgrade computer hardware and software
- Install, configure and update Operating Systems and Application Software
- Monitor use of system resources, hard disk, cpu, and memory
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree Computer Science or related discipline plus 4 to 6 years of directly related experience. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 10 years of applicable work experience. Directly related experience in computer repair and configuration. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for equivalent combination of both.
- Security + Certification Required within 60 days of hire
- Demonstrated experience with Linux server operating systems requirements and configuration
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft server, windows client and database
- Extensive knowledge of IT systems and network troubleshooting
- Extensive experience with Linux shell scripting, Microsoft PowerShell and/or other automation tools such as bash, ansible, chef and puppet.

- Experience with administration and management of Atlassian products to include Jira and Confluence
- Must be diligent, hardworking and a fast learner
- Excellent professional written and oral skills. Able to converse to both technical and non-technical personnel and managers.
- Must be a US Citizen able to obtain a Secret security clearance
