Summary

HII - Technical Solutions Division (HII-TSD) is seeking a Database Developer - Oracle SME at our US Coast Guard customer site in Kearneysville, WV.

Our team on this contract provides the United States Coast Guard (USCG) with high productivity Agile software engineering and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services that will help move the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Information Technology Service Center (C4ITSC) towards its envisioned state of technologically innovative, state-of-the-art, electronic and customer centric architecture to support the USCG's mission. USCG C4ITSC develops, deploys, maintains, operates, and provides user support for USCG Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) in order to improve mission effectiveness through the application of technology.

What you will do

  • Full-stack developer supporting development of applications using standard and industry best practices for UI/UX and Database management in federal sector.
  • Successful candidate will support the design, development, and implementation of complex software engineering activities.
  • Responsible for the design and development or enhancements of applications and integration of components across multiple platforms.
  • Responsible for the resolution process for complex problems where troubleshooting requires an in-depth understanding and evaluation of system processes.
  • Capturing and articulating requirements, User Stories, Story Points within Jira, using Agile-based methodologies to include Scrum/Sprint, and Kanban.
  • Assisting in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration and testing tools.
  • Ability to rapidly prototype in cloud environment with open source technologies.


What you must have

  • 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field.
  • 6+ years experience in application development in both front-end and back-end using .Net framework, SQL server and Oracle on both Linux and windows platforms.
  • Experience in coding APIs and integration with Front End Applications (like Angular JS).
  • Experience in application architecture involving the designing and developing of complex applications.
  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.
  • Exposure to full life-cycle application development (SDLC or SELC).
  • Working experience with the technologies include but not limited to .Net framework, SQL server and Oracle.
  • Excellent knowledge of the software development life cycle
  • Candidate should have experience performing full-stack application using industry-standard development tools and technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently or as part of a team.
