Who We Are:
Huntington Ingalls Industries – Technical Solutions Division (HII-TSD) is looking to hire an Aviation Journeyman to work at our MacDill AFB location in Tampa, FL.
HII-TSD provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.
What You Will Do:
- Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment.
- Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations.
- Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time. Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change.
- Maintains effective customer communications and relations.
- May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.
- Applies understanding of production and processes to assignments.
- Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
- May assist in the development and use technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports.
- Performs duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment.

What We Are Looking For:
- High School education, Trade School, Military Techincal School or equivalent.
- Aviation mechanic certificate required.
- Must have minimum of 6 years of recent relevant Flightline experience within the last 4 years.
- Must possess and maintain an active Secret security clearance.
- A new Federal Executive Order requires that employees of Federal contractors be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by December 8, 2021. Accordingly, as a condition of employment with Technical Solutions, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, employees will be required to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or have an approved exemption prior to starting employment.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Airframe and Powerplant certification higly desired.
Physical Requirements
Position requires general familiarity with a variety of hand and power tools to ensure compliance with proper safety precautions and optimum performance of tasking. Proficient in the use of PCs and word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, desktop applications, and electronic mail programs.
