Worth, TX , you will be trusted to lead our team of developers in the design, development, and maintenance of software applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in multiple programming languages, web development frameworks, databases, and cloud platforms.

In this role, a typical day will include:
  • Technical Leadership: Collaborate with the Product team and Solution Architects to release new features. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work culture. Lead the development team in designing, developing, and maintaining software applications. Participate in design and sprint reviews to remove technical barriers, shape our products' direction, and improve patient outcomes. Stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends.
  • Design and Development: Architect, design, and implement scalable software solutions using technologies like Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, and Microservices. Develop robust backend features while adhering to best practices. Design complex software systems for scalability, performance, and security. Proficient in designing and implementing microservices architecture using Spring MVC (Java Spring Boot) and Spring Cloud frameworks.
  • Security: Implement design patterns and best practices for high-performance backend services, ensuring software security and protection from breaches.
  • Quality Assurance: Advocate for quality engineering practices such as unit testing, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines to deliver reliable and efficient software. Ensure thorough testing and debugging before software release.
  • Cloud and Infrastructure: Expertise in AWS or other cloud platforms, using cloud-native technologies and best practices to optimize infrastructure and application performance.
  • Problem Solving: Use a programmatic approach to identify root causes and implement effective solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver solutions aligned with strategic objectives. Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely task completion and effective collaboration within a dynamic team.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school+15 yrs;Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)
  • 7 Years of Relevant Experience
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
  • Travel requirements: 10% Domestic

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience with Helm Charts and API security best practices.
  • Advanced proficiency in Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, Microservices, and related technologies.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, architectural principles, and industry best practices.
  • Expertise in low-level technical documentation standards.
  • Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly using Jenkins, and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially AWS, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and mentoring engineering teams
