As a Senior Associate - Metrology supporting our Research and Development Engineering Team, you will lead and support metrology activities within the organization to ensure measurement accuracy and compliance with industry standards. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining measurement systems, procedures, and equipment calibration processes at our R&D site in Johns Creek, GA.   • Improve our current processes and identify, develop, and deploy future processes utilizing industry leading, cutting-edge technology
  • Design and implement calibration procedures for measurement and test equipment. Ensure all equipment is calibrated to meet industry standards.
  • Conduct measurement system analysis (MSA) and capability studies to evaluate and improve measurement processes.
  • Analyze measurement data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement. Utilize statistical methods to interpret results.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians in metrology practices.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and other relevant industry regulations. Maintain documentation and records as required.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of metrology equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in metrology.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, to support measurement needs.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for staff on metrology principles and practices.
  • Work independently and take initiative in developing creative solutions
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Metrology and Test equipment and process
What You'll Bring To Alcon:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 2 Years of Relevant Experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering or Physics
  • Proficient in measurement techniques, data analysis software, and metrology instruments.
  • Experience in regulated industry (Medical Devices, Pharma, Automotive, Aerospace...)
  • Experience with CAD Software (e.g. SOLIDWORKS,...)
  • Experience with statistical analysis and stats software package - (e.g. Minitab, JMP...)
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude with good interpersonal skills and being capable of supporting an excellent team environment
