In this role, a typical day will include:
- Demonstrating scientific leadership by applying scientific/technical expertise in chemical characterization and separation science to identify and resolve complex chemistry issues
- Developing advanced analytical methods to characterize and understand structure-property relationship of polymeric materials such as macromers and hydrogels.
- Assisting management of project activities, support/coach team members, participate in sub-teams and contribute to all function strategies and goals.
- Providing answers to ad hoc questions related to chemical characterization, structural elucidation, trace analysis, and impurity identification
- Independently developing non-standard procedures of higher complexity, which requires studying multiple variables and critical attributes to achieve functional deliverables
- Mentoring co-workers within the function and routinely provide guidance to others.
- Thoroughly and clearly documenting and/or reviews experiments in laboratory notebook; prepares high quality Technical Documents. Good laboratory and documentation practice is essential.
- Communicating and collaborating with colleagues within a function, within team and with supervisor/mentor.
- Complying with all regulatory, quality, and safety requirements

- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- 5 Years of Relevant Experience
- Travel Requirements: 0-5%

- PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry or relevant disciplines with 5 years of experience
- Experience with LC-MS method development.
- Prior experience working in a regulated laboratory setting per GLP/GDP requirements.
- Prior experience in medical device and/or polymer-based device development
