As a National Accounts Director supporting Vision Care, you will be trusted to provide strategic business leadership for large accounts within the Vision Care national channel in order to drive growth, revenue, and joint value creation for Alcon & the customer. The NAD role drives an approach to develop best-in-class sales and commercial organization for Alcon . This role is a remote position.

Position must reside in a major metropolitan city with direct access flights to and from major customers.
In this role, a typical day will include:
Each National Account Director -role will be accountable for 1-3 large accounts identifying and addressing the needs and opportunities for the account to drive category growth, profitability, market share and revenue.
Lead the development of the account strategy in order to maximize profitability, revenue growth and market share in the context of the broader channel strategy and business plan.
- Complete needs discovery & validation through analysis & synthesis of information from multiple sources, to identify and prioritize business opportunities within the account in the context of the broader customer value chain.
- Leverage complex analyses and insights from other sources (such as customers and field sales) to prioritize account projects, value solutions, promotional programs, and specific pull-through tactics.
- Gain internal alignment by validating insights with the ESD & other internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with the broader Optical strategy.
- Define, communicate, and agree on ambitious objectives for the account aligned with organizational and brand priorities and the Optical strategy.
- Anticipate likely market and customer developments to take a long-term perspective on the account.
- Define and communicate a compelling vision for the account to the team, customers, and internal stakeholders.
- Scope, define and communicate initiatives and creative solutions for the account and win support, buy-in and resource allocation to optimize business outcomes.
- Align with internal stakeholders & co-develop solutions to ensure buy-in to the strategy and mobilization of key resources to support successful implementation, including field sales, customer marketing, finance and legal.
- Effectively communicate & negotiate agreed upon proposal with the customer, including tradeoffs, commercial terms, and expected business impact.
- Manage the implementation of initiatives and programs, from program set-up & launch through execution, to ensure optimization of value for Alcon and the customer and delivery to defined standards, including merchandising promotional programs, rebates, reinvestment, and cooperative spending.
- Manage financial budgets to business plan.
- Build strategic, long-term business partnerships with key senior leaders in accounts to accelerate growth and the delivery of mutual value.
- Engage senior stakeholders and ECPs within the account in a vision for category growth and the business strategies to deliver them, ensuring regular and frequent connection.
- Strengthen the perception of Alcon as a strategic business partner by sharing insights and information about market trends, technological innovation, and customer needs.
- Reinforce the value of customer relationships through summarizing the impact of initiatives and strategizing for further needs discovery.
- Apply a customer-centric approach to understand customer needs and concerns as the basis for developing creative solutions.
- Foster collaboration with field sales to reinforce account strategies in order to drive long-term category growth and sustained revenue increases.
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +15 yrs.; Assoc.+11 yrs.; M.S.+4 yrs.)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
