We are looking for an Executive Sales Director to provides strategic leadership for the target Vision Care channel in order to drive growth, revenue, and joint value creation for Alcon & the customer. The ESD role will be responsible for a designated channel while also playing an active role in shaping the overall Key Accounts strategy for Alcon to address the needs and opportunities of all channels.

In this role, a typical day will include:
  • Lead the channel strategy in order to maximize profitability, revenue growth and market share.
    • Complete needs discovery & validation through analysis & synthesis of information from multiple sources to identify and prioritize business opportunities across the channel and within accounts.
    • Initiate and leverage complex analyses and insights from other sources (such as customers and field sales) to understand the customer value chain and sources of value.
    • Develop a robust demand model and value solutions for the channel.
    • Support account teams to refine, communicate and enhance joint value across multiple customers and prioritize account projects, value solutions, promotional programs and specific pull-through tactics.
    • Work with internal teams to co-develop and agree on ambitious objectives for each account aligned with organizational and brand priorities and the channel strategy.
    • Anticipate likely market and customer developments to take a long-term perspective on channel strategy.
  • Lead the team to operationalize and implement the channel strategy within their target accounts.
    • Define and communicate a compelling vision for the channel and the opportunities for each account, to the team, customers and internal stakeholders.
    • Champion initiatives and creative solutions for the channel and for accounts and win support, buy-in and resource allocation to optimize business outcomes.
    • Create the conditions to enable the account teams to meet and exceed business goals and objectives (from proposal development & program launches through execution), by providing the right balance of autonomy, guidance, support, and development for each team member.
    • Develop the capabilities and talent within the channel through recruitment, development and succession planning.
    • Align with internal stakeholders to ensure buy-in to the strategy and mobilization of key resources to support successful implementation, including sales, marketing, finance & legal.
    • Manage the channel business to ensure delivery of strategic objectives including profitability and growth.
  • Develop and foster partnerships with target accounts focused on driving category growth and create mutual value for customers and for Alcon.
    • Build strategic, long-term business partnerships with customer C-Suite to accelerate growth and ensure delivery of mutual value.
    • Engage senior stakeholders in target accounts in a vision for category growth and the business strategies to deliver it.
    • Strengthen the perception of Alcon as a strategic business partner by sharing insights and information about market trends, technological innovation and customer needs.
    • Oversee the implementation of major initiatives including merchandising, promotional programs, rebates, reinvestment, and cooperative spending.
    • Support account teams to identify and prioritize stakeholders within their target accounts.
    • Reinforce the value of their customer relationships through summarizing the impact of initiatives and strategizing for further needs discovery.
What you can bring to Alcon:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs; Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+7 yrs; PhD+6 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
  • 10 Years of Relevant Experience
  • 6 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
    • Travel Requirements: 50%
