We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As a CNC Machinist supporting the Optical Tooling Team, in Duluth, GA, a typical day will include:
- Maintain, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance for precision diamond turning lathes, manual and CNC machining equipment and metrology equipment associated with tool fabrication.
- As needed, operate precision diamond turning lathes and metrology equipment associated with tool fabrication.
- Set-up, calibrate, maintain and perform basic functionality assessments for equipment in optical tooling lab.
- Works closely with engineers for developing, implementing and resolving optical fabrication processing problems
- Ensures good housekeeping practices are applied in maintaining the lab functionality.

- Ability to keep equipment for tooling fabrication in good standing.
- Ability to work independent and deliver on time on all assignments.
- Ability to maintain proper records and good housekeeping.
- Ability to interact with tooling engineers and other personnel in the lab.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
- 3 Years of Relevant Experience
- Work hours:40 hours
- Travel: up to 5%
- Relocation: No

- Experience as an electromechanic or similar
- Familiarity with precision/ultra-precision CNC equipment
- Working in a machine shop is a plus
- Fanuc, Haas, and/or Heindenhain CNC experience a plus
