The Community You Will Join

You will be joining the Marketing Strategic Finance & Analytics team, reporting directly to the Director of Marketing Strategic Finance & Analytics. The team plays a critical role in managing the budget operations, strategic planning, and performance analytics for our Marketing, Public Relations & Communications departments, all of which are integral to driving customer acquisition and establishing a world-class brand. You will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders, including the VP of Communications and the VP of Marketing, as well as cross-functional teams such as Finance, Creative, Production, and Consumer Insights.

The Difference You Will Make

In this high-impact role, you will lead a small team responsible for managing the consolidation, reporting, and financial operations of a >$1BN marketing and communications budget. Your efforts will ensure accurate budget tracking, drive budget strategy across communications and marketing, and support efficient spend allocation. Success in this role includes developing go-to-market strategies, providing actionable financial insights, and influencing budget decisions across the organization, with measurable outcomes like improved budget accuracy and strategic alignment with business objectives.

A Typical Day

  • Lead financial consolidation and reporting processes for the Marketing and Communications budget, ensuring timely and accurate close, forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Partner with senior leadership in Communications and Marketing to drive budget strategy, including spend allocation and ROI analysis for campaigns.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on creative, production, and design budget strategies to ensure spend efficiency.
  • Conduct deep-dive analytics on business trends, developing insights to inform strategy and decision-making.
  • Facilitate budget planning sessions, and continuously improve processes for purchase orders, budget requests, and approvals.
  • Present financial analysis and recommendations to executive leadership, ensuring alignment with broader company objectives.

Your Expertise

  • 12+ years of experience in finance, business, and analytics, including financial planning, management consulting, or investment banking.
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams, with a proven ability to manage large-scale budgets (>$500M), preferably in marketing and communications.
  • Strong technical financial analysis and modeling skills, with experience in financial forecasting systems.
  • Expertise in managing creative and non-working media budgets, with a bonus for accounting experience.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills, capable of driving complex processes and delivering impactful recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience presenting financial insights to executive audiences.
  • Experience with Public Relations & Communications, marketing channels, and campaign evaluation is preferred. SQL experience is a plus.

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
