The Difference You Will Make:
As the Senior Principal of Strategic Finance & Analytics for Community Support, you will report directly to the Finance Director, Airbnb Platform. In this vital role, you will act as a consultative partner to the CS leadership, engaging frequently with senior leaders and finance colleagues. Your contributions will be instrumental in shaping strategic initiatives, fostering informed decision-making, and ensuring that the Community Support team achieves its mission to deliver exceptional service to our travelers.A Typical Day:
- Collaborate with the Community Support team to achieve business and financial objectives by providing operational insights that enhance long-term growth and efficiency.
- Conduct quantitative analyses (such as ROI analysis and scenario planning) to identify and size opportunities for business impact, creating investment cases for new initiatives while supporting leadership in prioritizing resources effectively.
- Lead the financial planning process, ensuring alignment with business goals and strategic direction.
- Engage with Community Support business leaders to extract insights and streamline processes, recommending actionable next steps and fostering consensus among teams to achieve business outcomes.
- Work collaboratively across finance on key financial operations, including budgeting, planning, monthly/quarterly close, forecasting, variance analysis, long-range planning, and P&L management.
- Cultivate a culture of inclusion and diversity, where every team member feels valued and empowered to contribute.
- Perform resource management by identifying gaps and proposing effective solutions.
- Implement best practices and standards to enhance team performance and operational excellence.
- Ad hoc support for cross-functional initiatives.
Your Expertise:
- A Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, accounting, engineering, statistics, or a related field that showcases quantitative skills. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Over 12 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably with a background in business operations, community support, travel and hospitality, or a similar embedded internal role.
- Expertise in advanced modeling techniques with a demonstrated ability to handle large datasets, develop new analytical frameworks, and extract actionable insights.
- Proficient in financial forecasting systems, with knowledge of Hyperion considered an advantage.
- Familiarity with SQL and data visualization software (e.g., Tableau) or other querying languages to synthesize complex information effectively.
- Strong capability to work cross-functionally and influence various teams.
- Excellent communication skills, adept at engaging diverse audiences and securing stakeholder buy-in.
- Proven track record of driving change and making an impact in dynamic, unstructured environments.
- A proactive, mission-driven approach, with a genuine enthusiasm for learning and personal growth.
- Collaborative and team-oriented, maintaining a positive, solution-focused attitude.
- Exceptional consultative communication and relationship-building skills, effectively working with individuals at all organizational levels to drive actionable recommendations.
- Strong problem-solving skills, demonstrating sound judgment in ambiguous situations.

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
