As a Senior Analyst, Technology FP&A, you will be part of a highly collaborative team responsible for driving financial strategies and operations within Airbnb’s technology finance division. You will work closely with cross-functional partners, including engineering leadership and product teams, to deliver data-driven insights that support Airbnb’s technology investments and improve operational efficiency. Your work will directly contribute to Airbnb’s growth, ensuring that our technology initiatives are both innovative and scalable.

The Difference You Will Make:

The Senior Analyst, Technology FP&A will work closely with Airbnb’s technical leadership in support of efforts to help Airbnb innovate and grow efficiently.  Work will include running monthly financial reviews with engineering leaders, building models to help understand technology costs, analyzing costs related to product changes, and running a best-in-class budget planning process.  This role will focus on managing the costs of dozens of software tools and vendors we use across Airbnb’s platform, in addition to the direct cost of our engineering workforce.

A Typical Day:

  • Build and maintain financial models used for budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership to provide insights into technology costs and resource allocation.
  • Manage and optimize the engineering-related operating expense (opex) budget, including costs for software vendors, headcount, and contractors.
  • Analyze trends in vendor costs (such as those related to SMS and push notifications) and provide recommendations for optimizing usage.
  • Support procurement in vendor negotiations to secure the best pricing, ensuring Airbnb is protected against supplier risks.
  • Conduct financial reviews with senior leadership, presenting insights on cost efficiencies and areas of growth opportunity.
  • Work closely with data science teams to drive actionable insights from data and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Your Expertise:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in FP&A, banking, consulting, or a related function.
  • Proven experience in building and optimizing financial models for technology projects.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear models and executive presentations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop frameworks for understanding key financial drivers.
  • Genuine passion for both technology and finance, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with SQL and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
  • Experience with financial forecasting systems such as Anaplan or Hyperion.

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at off sites, as agreed to with your manager. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
