Position Summary

Responsible for supervising the Logistics Analyst role(s). Responsible for a Pod(s), which collates to a department or region, which will include 3rd party associates. The Team Leader will be assigned specific ownership for systems, SOP's/processes, accounting tasks, reporting, contract management, or international freight compliance. This position has shared ownership in their Pod(s) for Fleet for hire implementation, vendor allowance negotiations, optimization/overlays, carrier relationships, and implementation support (analytics, new business, and network optimization).

Our flexible/hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage operational interaction with the brands and support strategic goals
  • Supervisory responsibilities for Logistics Analyst and other Pod members
  • Implementation/execution of Alternative Product flow and/or projects feeding in from Supply Chain Analytics and Network Optimization
  • Optimize inbound freight and overlays creating maximum efficiency
  • Responsible for maintaining, tracking and analyzing all inbound shipments
  • Responsible for preparing statistical data for contract negotiations and participating in those negotiations
  • Evaluate existing capabilities and establish new systems and processes for tracking, measuring, reporting and analysis of all traffic
  • Monitor industry standards, trends, or practices to identify developments in logistics planning or execution
  • Manage carrier relationships; new carriers, Alternative Product flow partners, and International 3PL
  • Communicate with and monitor service providers such as ocean carriers, air freight forwarders, global consolidators, customs brokers, owner operators, and trucking companies
  • Manage systems to ensure that pricing structures adequately reflect logistics costing
  • Provide ongoing analysis in areas such as transportation costs, procurement, and the distribution delivery process
  • Manage, communicate, and resolve operational, process and systems issues to maintain customer satisfaction
  • Lead cross functional support teams, project management, and presentations to leadership
  • Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, and frequency
  • Negotiate allowances/rates with Suppliers and carriers to improve supply chain efficiency
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business owners, systems, or process enabling DA to create efficiencies and reduce costs
  • Assist in the hiring of new associates, vendors, and Logistics Solutions Providers
  • Assist in on boarding and training of new associates, vendors, and Logistics Solutions Providers

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • 5 - 8 years combined experience in in Supply Chain, Procurement/Merchandising, and/or Distribution/Manufacturing operations.
  • Proficient in MS Office with strong focus In Excel, Access, and PowerPoint or related software
  • Cross-functional leadership experience
  • Collaboration experience with vendors, transportation providers, & third party consultants
  • Seasoned level of knowledge for company, business and industry practices
  • Seasoned knowledge of supply chain systems, warehouse management systems, replenishment methodology, and industrial engineering methods/techniques.
  • Seasoned knowledge of the trucking industry, distribution, replenishment, category management functions
  • Demonstrate a personal acceptance of change and the ability to adapt and drive change
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and analyze retail business using consumer insights and analyzing trends.
  • Active listener with an ability to build trust across varying levels of the organization
  • High degree of credibility and the ability to work with and through all levels of management
  • Excellent organizational, planning, influence, communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated and persuasive in presenting and selling ideas and executing their implementation
  • Ability to manage day to day activity in support of identified business area and functional area strategies
  • Ability to influence organizational alignment across multiple business areas
  • Ability to take an educated risk with implementing programs that support consumer demands.
  • Ability to think innovatively
  • Requires travel - typically 10%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics or business related field
  • Supervisory experience

IL/MA/MD Salary Range: $125,200 - $187,800
