Responsible for working closely with experienced technician and area supervisor to develop the skills necessary to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on stores' HVAC, ice machines and refrigeration systems. This position will complete assigned work orders, including data entry in maintenance service tracking system (Service Channel), and respond to afterhours calls with guidance and assistance from assigned experienced technician or supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in the completion of assigned workorders under the direct supervision of an experienced technician or supervisor.
• Schedule and perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Complete and maintain records for preventive maintenance program checklists. • Perform general maintenance duties that include refrigeration system, air conditioning, and electrical.
• Process and track refrigerant use in accordance with Brand and EPA guidelines (once EPA certification obtained)
• Provide routine preventative maintenance services on racks, cases & alarming systems.
• Update control set-points for refrigeration systems and EMS controls
• Repair refrigerant leaks, evaporators, coolers & freezers, heating, and air conditioners.
• Responsible for electrical control wiring and troubleshooting of controls.
• Analyze mechanical operation of refrigeration and HVAC units for proper operation.
• Order necessary repair parts to complete assigned work orders.
• Complete repairs on operating units for refrigeration and HVAC, including doors, doorframes, gaskets, latches, closures on cases and prep area drains.
• Respond to work order requests and after-hours emergency calls.
• Additional job duties may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the business and support our Values.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of refrigeration, heat, air conditioning, electrical and plumbing
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• EPA Certification (Universal) or ability to obtain within 3 months
• Ability to obtain state licensures, if required by state, within 2 years
• Ability to climb ladders for service above ceilings and roof access to equipment
• Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs. and lift/move 100 lbs. (with assistance)
• Ability to answer after-hours/weekend emergency service calls
• Excellent computer skills
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to travel daily, throughout assigned region
