Get to know our team:
The Fintech Commercial team is responsible for managing Agoda's relationships with global payment and fintech companies around the world, making sure Agoda has the right payment rails and operates fit-for-purpose payout rails using a global Virtual Credit Card infrastructure, and coming up with new ideas and making business cases for initiatives in Embedded Finance, Neobanking, and much more.
The opportunity:
The Finance Fintech Intern will work with multiple verticals within the Fintech Commercial team, including Pay-in, Pay-out, and New Solutions. Depending on the skillset of the intern, work will involve data analysis on Agoda's payment data, powerpoint pitches for various internal and external initiatives, research on latest trends in fintech and payments and assisting execution of ongoing initiatives with Product, IT and Finance.
In this role, you'll get to:
- Assist in the creation of PowerPoint decks for ongoing internal and external initiatives
- Aid coordination of existing initiatives with multiple internal and potential external stakeholders in a quasi-project management role
- Engage in research on the payment and fintech industry, producing output with regards to specific deliverables (e.g what are the key consumer payment trends in Japan, and is Pay over the counter in cash vs Card or E-Wallet or QR code going to sustain its share in the market in the next 5-years)
- Upkeep, maintain, and improve the backlog of tasks, initiatives, and OKRs the team maintains on a quarterly basis
- Other ad-hoc project or initiative-specific tasks as required depending on the initiative the intern is staffed
Requirements:
- Currently a 3rd-year student or below with strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficient in Microsoft 365
It's great if you have:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Business and Management (Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Accounting, and others), Formal Sciences (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, and others), or Humanities and Social Sciences (Liberal Arts, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Economics, and others)
- Knowledge of Financial Modeling and Analysis
- Proficient in Dashboard, Tableau, or SQL
