Software Engineer - Test Automation / Robots

As a software developer in the Robot team you will have the opportunity to develop new capabilities for our automated testing frameworks, in particular our in-house built robot. You will be scoping and developing testing tools used by all teams working on our Payment Terminals Firmware.
Robots play a key role in end to end testing helping us release reliable firmware to all of our payment devices and are making sure that Adyen is able to process an incredible amount of payments around the globe. This position is based in Amsterdam.
What you'll do
Adyen launches new features at a high pace and the automated execution of test cases is completed after introducing a feature. For the automation of end to end test cases we also make use of our in-house build robots. In this setup, which is unique in the world, we are able to control 60+ robots to perform hundreds of different test scenarios on all kinds of payment devices, even from home. In this role you will work together with other developers to add new capabilities to this test system and to other test systems that we are developing. Think about components and API’s that developers use to write test scenarios, but also user interfaces for scheduling tests and reading test results.
You'll be working in a young and motivated team with a lot of room to start new initiatives and take ownership.
Who you are
- Experienced with Java, 5+ years
- (good to have) Experience with other languages such as Kotlin and Python
- Experienced with SQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux
- (Good to have) Experience with setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines
- You like working with a diverse tech stack.
- Affinity with hardware as part of the software you will write involves our robots
- Able to identify and improve parts of the testing framework to make it more robust and scalable
- You are a highly collaborative person as you will need to work together with many developers to understand and optimize the automated testing process
- Experience in test automation is a definite plus
