You will be the voice of the customer for hotels & resorts, online travel agencies, cruises and travel leasing, driving product innovation and market expansion.
This role requires a deep understanding of the hospitality industry and a passion for payments, combined with exceptional strategic thinking, a proven track record of driving commercial success, a strong bias for action, and a love of data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Vertical Strategy & Growth: This involves defining the overall strategic direction for Adyen's Unified Commerce Hospitality vertical, encompassing lodging, rental cars, and cruises. This includes setting ambitious yet achievable growth targets, identifying key market opportunities (e.g., specific customer segments, untapped needs), and developing actionable plans to capitalize on those opportunities. This also requires influencing stakeholders across various Adyen departments (Partnerships, Marketing, Commercial, Product) to ensure alignment and successful execution of the vertical's growth strategy.
- Customer & Market Advocacy: This role requires a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by hospitality businesses. Acting as a trusted advisor and advocate involves actively listening to customers, conducting market research, and analyzing vertical-specific customer behavior to identify opportunities for product and service innovation. This also includes collaborating closely with product teams to develop solutions that address the specific requirements of the hospitality industry and differentiate Adyen from competitors. Analyzing market trends, competitor offerings, and customer data is crucial for identifying high-potential segments and developing targeted strategies.
- Commercial Enablement & Competitive Advantage: This aspect focuses on empowering the sales team to effectively sell Adyen's solutions within the hospitality vertical. It entails collaborating with sales to develop effective sales motions, creating compelling sales materials (e.g., presentations, case studies, proposals), and delivering training and knowledge-sharing sessions to equip them with the necessary tools and information. Furthermore, it involves partnering with Product & Strategy teams to develop compelling sales motions, impactful selling materials, and competitive insights to ensure Adyen maintains a competitive edge by staying ahead of industry trends and competitor offerings.
- Partnership Management: This responsibility involves supporting the Commercial and Product Partnerships teams to ensure Adyen maintains best-in-class integrations with key players in the hospitality ecosystem. This includes building and nurturing relationships with key partners (e.g., PMS providers, booking platforms), identifying new partnership opportunities that can expand Adyen's reach and capabilities, and collaborating on joint go-to-market initiatives to leverage partner networks and expertise.
- Product Development & Enhancement: This involves actively participating in the development of payment product strategies and tactics, with a specific focus on C2B and B2B real-time payments. This includes leading cross-functional teams to build and launch new digital products, features, and capabilities that cater to the evolving needs of the hospitality industry. It also entails independently identifying product enhancements and innovation opportunities based on market conditions and stakeholder feedback, creating product concepts, and coordinating detailed product functionality requirements with key stakeholders to ensure successful roadmap delivery. A strong focus on customer experience is essential, including building user-friendly interfaces and addressing customer pain points.
- Market Research & Roadmap: This aspect involves conducting thorough market research to identify key trends impacting the hospitality sector, such as changing regulatory environments, advancements in payment technologies, and emerging business models. This information is crucial for informing Adyen's business strategy and product roadmap. This also includes translating market trends and company vision into specific product requirements and functional specifications, contributing to the overall direction of product development.
- Collaboration & Vendor Management: This involves effective communication and collaboration with internal and external business partners, including customers, development teams, support, sales, marketing, and management. This ensures alignment on product vision, facilitates buy-in for new initiatives, and incorporates the voice of the customer into product development. Additionally, it entails aiding in the management of relationships with new and existing payments vendors, ensuring smooth operations and optimal performance.
