As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in scoping and developing testing tools used by all teams working on our Payment Terminals Firmware. Our goal is to ensure maximum reliability of our products by providing the right testing frameworks to the rest of the engineering organization.

What You'll Do

Adyen launches new features at a high pace, making the automated execution of test cases critical to the success of releases and the rollout of new features and fixes. We use multiple testing frameworks, each dedicated to different terminal models, phases of the release process (pre-merge, post-merge), and levels of automation.

One of these frameworks is based on our in-house build robots, allowing us to control 50+ robots to perform thousands of different E2E test scenarios on various payment devices. Other frameworks involve emulating terminals (fully or partially) or remote controlling actual terminals installed in a “device farm”.

In this role, you will:

  • Understand the real needs of our developers.
  • Identify areas of improvement in existing frameworks.
  • Build new frameworks and/or harmonize existing ones to improve the developers’ experience.
  • Develop components and APIs for writing test scenarios.
  • Create mechanisms for scheduling tests, reading test results, reviewing logs, and managing different configurations of the terminals.
  • You'll be part of a young and motivated team with a lot of room to start new initiatives and take ownership.

You thrive in challenging environments and are eager to make a significant impact on the tooling landscape within IPP. This role requires a strong development background and a strategic vision for testing.
