As Global Head of Corporate Legal at Adyen you will be responsible for driving the strategy of the corporate legal organization and advancing the strategy of the larger legal organization. Adyen is a publicly listed company with shares traded on the Euronext Amsterdam. The corporate legal role is hugely important to Adyen’s success, ensuring that the corporate legal team effectively supports and advances our growing business. This is a strategic role that is part of Adyen’s legal leadership team. A key feature of the role will be cross functional partnership and collaboration. In this capacity, we expect you to know how to stand your ground in a fast-moving environment, manage tough corporate dilemmas, make strategic decisions, and to be a strong people manager who can work across time zones. The corporate legal team is centered in Amsterdam and the United States but Adyen is a global company with offices, entities, and boards all over the world. Your Responsibilities.

  • Lead two teams of corporate legal professionals focused on corporate legal matters across the globe.
  • Collaborate and advance the corporate legal strategy with key stakeholders, including local general counsels and senior management, and with key teams, including investor relations, communications, risk, and finance.
  • Manage, operationalize, and stay up to date with corporate governance, corporate entity management, issuer compliance, intercompany agreements, third party agreements, and disputes and litigation.
  • Manage and advise on corporate legal matters relating to the management board, supervisory board, and committees.
  • Provide legal oversight and counsel on public disclosures, earnings, and disclosures.
  • Coach and develop the corporate legal team to ensure high performance.

Your Qualifications.

  • You are an attorney with at least seven (7) years of corporate legal experience, either as an attorney or in-house counsel in an international setting working on corporate matters.
  • You have leadership experience managing a team or teams of attorneys.
  • You have experience interfacing with the AFM, supervisory boards, and management boards.
  • You have excellent communication skills, are comfortable interfacing with senior management, and have strong interpersonal people management skills.
  • You have extensive experience at a publicly traded company with shares listed on the Euronext.
  • You can use technology and data to automate and scale key processes.
  • You have the ability to structure and prioritize in a high volume, fast-paced environment and build and drive processes to completion.
  • You are able to work across time zones quickly, decisively, and independently.
  • You can gather appropriate input and make clear, well-reasoned decisions.
  • You are available to work from our Amsterdam office and travel to other offices, including San Francisco, periodically.
  • You are fluent in English, both written and spoken
