Purpose of Position

The primary purpose of this position is to successfully deliver technology solutions to meet business needs through effective business systems analysis and project management. The incumbent manages interdepartmental and cross-functional teams in all project phases from requirements definition and solution design to testing, deployment and end user training. This position also manages all activities related to the design, planning, enhancement, and administration of Salesforce and other AdvaMed business systems.

Essential Duties of Position

Management and Leadership

  • Provides strategic oversight of the Salesforce platform, ensuring best practices for configuration and integration with the system
  • Works with Information Technology leadership and other AdvaMed teams to ensure Salesforce and related systems meet the needs of the organization
  • Supervises and supports staff and contractors, fostering a positive work environment and helping team members to develop skills to advance AdvaMed projects
  • Supervises the creation & updating of critical SOPs and training for AdvaMed staff's use of AdvaMed's Salesforce platform– including the creation of training videos
  • Participates in industry and other professional networks to ensure awareness of industry standards, trends, and best practices to strengthen organizational and technical knowledge

Project Management

  • Provides project management of complex technology projects in order to foster transparency and open project collaboration
  • Manages all aspects of projects from planning, external vendor relationships, communication, reporting, budgeting, and risk assessments and mitigation plans

Business Analysis

  • Analyzes staff business requirements and determines if needs can be met with existing AdvaMed systems or whether a new solution is needed
  • Evaluates, recommends, and participates when new applications, integrations, or vendors are needed to support the growth and maintenance of AdvaMed's technology ecosystem
  • Assists staff in the development of test plans and test case selection; coordinates testing of system modifications to ensure that documented requirements are met and that final acceptance is acquired
  • Develops, provides, or coordinates system training, educational tools, and materials.

Data Analysis

  • Works with AdvaMed staff to identify and understand business questions that need to be answered through data
  • Based on business needs, defines and facilitates the creation of metrics, reports and data visualizations
  • Leads the association's data governance in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Develops, manages and promotes processes for identification, reporting and resolution of data quality issues, and works to ensure ongoing data consistency and integrity
  • Actively engages in Salesforce management, troubleshooting, and configuration tasks as needed

Other

  • Creates and manages budgets as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience with Salesforce, and other typical association systems, such as electronic marketing systems, data reporting systems, etc.
  • Experience managing technology vendors to meet the goals of the organization
  • Ability to assess and identify technologies for potential solutions
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as knowledge of both agile and traditional project management principles and practices
  • Experience gathering, refining, and prioritizing requirements
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Must work well on both team-oriented initiatives and independently
  • Empowers direct report(s), encourages collaborative work environment
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback on assignments
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Specifications

  • Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent field of study
  • Minimum Experience Required: 6+ years of work experience, including experience working with nonprofits or associations
  • Travel Required: None
  • Hybrid Work Policy: Teleworker: Minimum 1 day onsite per week
  • Starting Range: $156,850 - $177,300
