In this role, you will lead a team of software engineers who build and maintain microservices and features within. No two days are alike. You will spend your time checking in with your team, stateside or abroad. You will facilitate the team's work through coaching and guidance and provide leadership with realistic expectations and deadlines. You will be the final set of eyes to review code for quarterly initiatives and manage ad-hoc requests as they arise. You'll be accountable for something significant: the uncompromising quality of products that impact people's lives.

To thrive in this role, you'll need expert-level knowledge of software development at scale, including knowledge of functional programming, and microservice architectures. Your ability to communicate clearly and effectively will keep the team informed of company-wide initiatives and leaders comfortable with the team's progress. Team collaboration and exchange of ideas are central to projects here. You will be a role model for motivating yourself and the team to maintain positive momentum and energy. Pace does not scare you. WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Here's what you can expect on a typical day:
- As a Engineer Manager, you will oversee multiple scrum teams in Product Development
- You will manage dynamic teams, ensuring exceptional product quality, security, and resilience, and acting as a primary liaison with various business leaders
- Your ability to communicate clearly and effectively will keep the team informed of company-wide initiatives and leaders comfortable with the team's progress
- You will be a role model for motivating yourself and the team to maintain positive momentum and energy
- Team Management: Lead multiple product development teams of 6-8 members each, including developers, technical leads, quality assurance and a scrum master
- Project Execution: Ensure the effective execution of product development initiatives, focusing on quality, security, and resilience of the products
- Support and Collaboration: Act as the primary contact for front-line business leaders, providing support and collaboration
- Work closely with the business side of Tier 2 support to assist with queries and ensure seamless inter-departmental communication
- Leadership and Development: Responsible for people leadership, fostering team engagement, conducting year-end reviews, and managing compensation planning
- Strategic Oversight: Provide strategic oversight and direction to the product development teams
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and ensure the quality of both product development and support services
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with product development and support
- Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team
- Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring alignment of goals and expectations

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:
- You'll have a Bachelor's degree OR equivalent.
- You have 10 years of experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role
- Proven experience in managing scrum teams and product development
- Strong knowledge of leading products from conception to delivery
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Experience in strategic planning, quality assurance, and risk management
- Good understanding of technology and experience working on developing products new and old
