ADP is hiring a Senior Data Engineer!

In this role, you will work with the development team to gather details on data requirements and use that information to extract and transform data from external systems and load them in others and build and optimize data pipelines for ADP's cloud-based Human Resource solutions. This role is critical to ensuring we deliver high-quality data that drives decision-making and enhances customer usability.

You'll work within an agile team using modern data engineering tools and frameworks to create robust data architectures and integrate various data sources. Your role requires you to advocate for necessary changes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our data solutions.

To thrive in this role, you'll need to be curious, persistent, and at times persuasive. You'll support Data Science professionals to improve data acquisition and handling for optimizing performance and costs for models training, among others. As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll also leverage your leadership and teaching skills to train and mentor junior-level data professionals. You will own the data structuring and have significant involvement in the success of releases with your product. WHAT YOU'LL DO:


Here's what you can expect on a typical day:


You understand that an agile data engineering environment requires flexibility. Working in two-week sprints, you must keep up with timelines and coding standards. Time constraints and the fluidity of work often mean taking a creative approach to our data pipeline strategies. Your first thought? Bring it on!

Design & Build. You'll design and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data pipelines for large-scale, complex data systems. You will focus on the operationalization of datasets, ensuring they are optimized for performance and accessibility.

We work collaboratively, so you will communicate and collaborate with technical developers and multiple stakeholders for your data products. You'll articulate clear and compelling reasons to persuade developers to make changes that enhance data usability and performance.

You're always learning new technologies and eager to figure things out as you grow in your role. Inevitable challenges will arise, and we'll rely on you to look for innovative solutions.

You have strong experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

You'll have a Bachelor's degree OR equivalent.
Experience with:
• ETL (Extract, Transform and Load)
• Data Pipelines
• Database performance tuning
• SQL
• Dataset operationalization

Besides the proven experience and technical skills mentioned above and working in an Agile environment, experience with the following tools and technologies may give you extra comfort in the role:
• AWS Glue
• AWS RDS (Postgres)
• PowerBI
• Tableau
