DevOps DBA
We are seeking an experienced DevOps DBA to join our DB engineering team in SCS DevOps org.
Responsibilities:
- Designing, implementing, and managing complex database systems, Ensuring high availability, performance, and security of databases
- Performing database backups, recovery, and replication. Monitoring database health and troubleshooting issues
- Strong and Meticulous with database upgrades, replication using DMS, recovery, DB migration, etc
- Experience in defining and implementing holistic Monitoring of Cloud databases including monitoring tools like Splunk, Dyntrace , SQLDM etc
- Participate in 24/7 DBA team on-call rotation for production databases
- Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
- Stay up to date with the latest technologies and trends in observability, monitoring, SRE with respect to DB

Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of experience in DevOps Database Engineer or a related role.
- Strong proficiency in DB tools and technologies (e.g. Oracle(Preferably), MySQL, Postgres, AWS DBs).
- Experience with scripting languages (SQL, Python, Bash, etc.) for automation and analysis.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS Preferably).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Engineering Graduate in Computer Science or equivalent
- Any Database Administration Certification, DevOps DB Certification
- Experience in Developing Infra as code using Terraform or any other
- Experience in automation tools Jenkins, Ansible, git etc
- Knowledge of latest trends in Database engineering principles and practices.
Experience with SRE Practices, incident management and response.
