RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leading full lifecycle internal cross-functional system and process implementations, as well as Lean Six Sigma process improvement projects for internal Insurance Services clients.
  • Manage all project phases, including Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring, Control and Closure
  • Work on concurrent projects of high complexity and direct day-to-day activities of projects as well as staff in a diverse matrixed organization
  • Create project plans, including deliverables, activities, communication, timelines, risks and budgets - following our project standard while helping to continuously improve the standard
  • Ensure milestones are successfully met through oversight of project vehicles and coordination of resources
  • Work collaboratively with other teams impacting the project while developing rapport and building long-lasting positive business relationships
  • Lead communication with stakeholders from all levels of the organization and team members through completion of the projects
  • Direct project timeliness and budgets
  • Assess, manage, resolve and escalate (if necessary) risks and issues with a focus on our agency's overall risk management and business continuity
  • Employs highly developed consultative skills
  • Tailor processes to meet the needs of individual projects and demonstrate flexibility if parameters change
  • Make decisions based on information and input in a timely and - where applicable - in a collaborative manner
  • Provide analysis of project, including business case, ROI and post-project review
  • Leverage PMI Project Management and Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools
  • Drive innovation, best practices and achievement of strategic objectives

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration
  • PMP or equivalent professional project management certification
  • At least five years of experience leading projects
  • Experienced in managing medium to large cross-functional and/or multi-year projects
  • Extensive experience with project management tools and structured methodologies
  • Must be comfortable working with executive stakeholders as well as with large and diverse teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative approach to work

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:

  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
  • Experience in Change Management
  • Experience in Business Continuity and Risk Management
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance industry and/or related company products
  • Ability to effectively communicate with multiple functions/organizations to identify and negotiate required resources
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to interface with and present to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to effectively and collaboratively manage across formal organizational lines
  • Strong team leadership and ability to delegate responsibility to all levels of the project team while holding the team accountable for deliverables
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Visio, proficiency in use of Smartsheet
  • Commitment to being accountable for results
  • Proven track record of building relationships both internally and externally
  • Strong focus on client service (internal and external clients)
  • Ability to think independently and make decisions
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to work
