Seeking a seasoned accountant who is actively searching for meaningful and rewarding work in an upbeat environment, to join a well-established non-profit organization that values work-life balance and a passion for social justice and progression.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Submits accounts payable transactions, consistent with commitments and to the appropriate jobs
- Preparation and gathering of all necessary supporting documents (and various other reports) to present to project management in order for them to bill
- Manage the gathering invoices and appropriate supporting documents, timesheets, routing the same for appropriate approvals and job cost coding
- Prepare check runs and insure no double payments on invoices
- Pay monthly G&A and monthly job invoices as necessary
- Ability to enter data in timely and accurate fashion
- Ability to understand "job" level accounting
- Ability to understand compliance requirements with national, state and local agency corporate and contractual mandates
- Ability to research accounting information in a software, and respond to requests for such data from field personnel
- Strong written and oral communication skills as well as attention to detail
- Strong organizational and analytical skills

Qualifications:
- 3+ years in accounting(non-profit is not required but preferred)
- A Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university
- A CPA license or CPA-eligibility is a bonus
- Understanding of financial statement and bookkeeping concepts
