The Payroll Accountant in Shared Services is responsible for the accounting of payroll cycles and accruals. Prepares journal entries, reconciles balance sheet accounts and completes fluctuation analysis on salary, wage and benefit expenses. The Payroll Accountant ensures accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles as well as internal accounting controls.

Perform accounting processes for payroll cycles as well as payroll and PTO accruals. Ensure all entries are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations monthly. Ensure appropriate classification of all balance sheet activity.
Interaction with the HR/Payroll group to ensure internal accounting controls are considered and followed.
Completion of fluctuation analysis and analytical review for shared services SWB expenses monthly and quarterly.
Support audit process by providing information to auditors, both internal and external, on a quarterly and annual basis.
Maintain and follow policies and procedures in order to ensure an effective system of internal accounting control and compliance with SOX 404.
Participate in system upgrades/patches to include documentation and testing.
Assist with the integration of acquisitions and/or joint ventures into our financial systems and processes.
Maintain deadlines and work in a fast paced environment.
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining professional networks; participating in professional organizations, etc.
Support special projects and undertake other duties as requested.
Minimum Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with experience in payroll accounting
Proficient with MS Excel
Experience with large-scale financial systems (Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP) a plus
