Please note-this is a hybrid role working from our Vancouver, BC office. This person is expected to be on site 2-3 days per week.

A day in the life...

  • Be a key contributor to our agile team.
  • Engineering and automating multiple complex components and services.
  • Act as a technical expert in related engineering field.
  • Manages the integration of cloud applications and infrastructure services into existing IT systems.
  • Coordinating with technology brokers to evaluate new cloud technologies and service offerings.
  • Coordinating with enterprise and information architects to ensure new cloud services align with roadmaps while understanding the impact on the organization's information architecture.
  • Understanding business requirements and working with process analysts to ensure that integration activities enhance business processes or to minimize any negative impact.
  • Liaises with external providers to resolve any issues in the functionality and interoperability of new cloud applications, cloud- based infrastructure, and other cloud services with existing IT systems.
  • Coordinating testing efforts to identify and resolve system integration issues.
  • Assumes the point person role in group specific business case and design demonstrations.
  • Designs and executes tests with new vendors or designs and gathers and present that data back to the team.
  • Writes and maintain excellent documentation for the teams usage.
  • As a key cross functional Senior engineer, is able to be part of medium sized cross functional projects and seen as a key collaborator in these efforts.
  • Adheres to security and compliance processes as outlined by the team and organization.
  • Consistently identifies and communicates risks/opportunities to security/compliance.

What we are looking for...

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science/Engineering, related field, or Engineering specific certifications or equivalent degree experience
  • 5+ years specific engineering field experience (network, systems/storage, database
  • 5+ years of experience as a software developer, application integration specialist, or in fields related to enterprise application integration (EAI)
  • Specific business domain experience preferred but not mandatory
  • Expert in application design/architecture, integration architecture development, and enterprise application integration
  • Competent in service and IT architecture development
  • Builds a collaborative working relationship with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Competent in new technology evaluation and should be able to support technical change management
  • Ability to perform functional requirements analysis and business process analysis
  • Understands software testing processes
  • Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems management, or a related field of study.
  • Experience managing large scale IT systems; enterprise operations; and multiple, complex IT Data Centers, Systems, and IT infrastructure.
  • Must have experience managing an enterprise-wide infrastructure environment and experienced in virtualization, application maintenance, remote access services, messaging, transport, storage technologies, information assurance/network security, telecommunications, cloud services, mobility, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), and system integration.
