Payroll Tax Analyst

Business Process Delivery professionals execute repeatable core business processes and/or technical transactions with a focus on efficiency, first-time quality and overall continuous process improvement.

The Payroll Tax Analyst has a full range of responsibilities for employment tax compliance related to Federal Employment Tax, tax audits, software maintenance and innovation, and general tax law research for lodging and corporate entities. Specifically, the Tax Analyst is responsible for the following:

Responsibilities:

• Providing accurate and timely federal employment tax returns
• Reviewing the accuracy and timeliness of tax returns and deposits as submitted in the review process
• Ensuring compliance with internal control responsibilities of all tax review and table maintenance processes under their responsibility, including general ledger items and reconciliations
• Constantly working with payroll software systems with emphasis on periodic maintenance, updating tax rates, and generating the appropriate employee or employer data Vertex and Oracle
• Pulling, processing and analyzing federal tax reports and forms for union and similar audits
• Responding to Associates inquiries through emails or voicemails Implementing tax return amendments such as Form W 2c or Form W 2 reissues
• Processing Oracle Balance Adjustments
• Assistance in payroll tax reconciliations
• Researching relevant tax laws and regulations, as needed
• General administrative work and some assistance on payroll accounting

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 2 year minimum of experience in Finance/Accounting
• 2 years minimum of experience reporting in Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates or Bachelor's degree
• Payroll Tax experience preferred
• Excellent customer service skills
• Microsoft Office experience preferred
