Job Summary:

The Manager of Quality Management System (QMS) is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) program. This role involves overseeing all planned and systematic activities to ensure that products and services meet the required quality standards. The QMS Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to establish, monitor, and continuously improve quality processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Assurance (QA):
    • Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Assurance program to ensure that all products and services meet defined quality standards.
    • Establish and manage quality policies, procedures, and documentation that comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company objectives.
    • Conduct internal audits, risk assessments, and gap analyses to identify areas for improvement within the quality system.
    • Provide training and support to staff on quality assurance processes and standards.
  2. Quality Control (QC):
    • Develop and oversee the Quality Control processes, including the operational techniques and activities required to meet quality requirements.
    • Monitor and evaluate quality performance, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
    • Coordinate with production, engineering, and other departments to ensure that quality controls are effectively integrated into all aspects of operations.
    • Analyze quality data to identify trends and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  3. Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, industry, and customer standards (e.g., ISO 9001, FDA, etc.).
    • Prepare and present regular reports on quality metrics, non-conformances, and improvement initiatives to senior management.
    • Manage external audits and inspections, ensuring timely and effective responses to findings.
  4. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop the QA/QC team, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
    • Set performance goals, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback to team members.
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams to address quality issues and drive process improvements.
  5. Continuous Improvement:
    • Develop and implement quality improvement strategies to enhance processes, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
    • Lead or participate in quality-related projects and initiatives, using methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, or Total Quality Management (TQM).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quality management, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control, preferably within [industry].
  • In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, standards, and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, GMP, FDA, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and quality metrics.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Six Sigma) is a plus.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and compliance.
